CDOT CSS Site - This site provides some good overall information on CSS. "Founded on a set of principles outlined in the context statement and core values, the I-70 Mountain Corridor Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) process brings together a multi-disciplined, multi-interest stakeholder group tasked with providing guidance for future studies, designs, and construction projects to ensure that stakeholder values, such as preserving and maintaining scenic and environmental integrity, are incorporated into the project decision making process.. There are some examples from different projects and definitions of several of the terms."
US 40 Fraser Study - This is an example project site for another study we did in Region 3. This is similar to what we will do for this effort. Our project website will likely mimic this site.
June 13 - KMOHR representatives met with CDOT officials June13, to learn about the project schedule, public outreach plans, our primary concerns and other topics. Read the meeting minutes here. An important takeaway is this:
CDOT is preparing to do surveys on Cottonwood Pass in the next month. They are beginning surveying to map out existing Right of Ways (ROWs) and to measure the current roadway configuration. If you see surveyors on Cottonwood Pass, CDOT wants you to know that they are measuring as part of this study (read more below). They should have "Project Fact Sheets" available to answer questions that you may have for CDOT.

CDOT will have public meetings for the purpose of gathering public input as to concerns and ideas sometime in July.
Keep your eyes out for additional information and check the KMOHR website for updates so that you can be part of this important process in determining the extent and nature of the Cottonwood Pass improvements.
