Discover New Development Proposals
Keep Missouri Heights Rural will remain stridently vigilant in KEEPING MISSOURI HEIGHTS RURAL. We will watch for all proposed development in the Missouri Heights areas of both Eagle and Garfield Counties, and we will respond accordingly. Following are links to watch. How to Use Links.
For Example: Watching for Proposed Text Amendments to Land Use Codes in Garfield County
Text amendments would go through Planning and Zoning where we have input as members of the public. So, let's say someone proposes a text amendment which calls for only administrative review in the "Rural" zone. That would mean that only County Community Development staff reviews with no public input.
So....
We find that there is a text amendment proposed by looking at the agenda before P&Z every week. If there is a text amendment proposing a new category of development (e.g., camp), we have the opportunity before P&Z to provide input as to how it should be reviewed, major impact? Limited review? How defined? Then the text amendment has to be approved by the BOCC, as well.
